If you are into culture and beautiful gardens, Toowoomba would be perfect for a weekend getaway. From the heritage buildings in the city centre to backyard gardens, there are beautiful sceneries in every season.
Toowoomba is probably well known for its annual Flower Festival in September. However, the city has so much more to offer. If you visit in spring time, you would be welcomed with blooming Jacaranda throughout the city. This unforgettable sight would be best enjoyed from higher end of the city, like Mount Lofty lookout.
There are also numerous gardens and parks for you if you enjoy picnics or want to organise outdoor parties. To name a few, the Queensland State Rose Garden and Picnic Point Lookout are one of the best. Boyce Garden Rainforest that belongs to UQ is also fantastic, you can visit its gardens as well as host conferences here.
Apart from gardens, Toowoomba also has amazing murals and a few beautifully decorated laneways. This amazing mural by Fintan Magee, can be found on Ruthven Street in the city centre.
There are lots of other places and sceneries to be explored here, and with it being less than 2 hours away from Brisbane, it is a great city not be missed.
